Forest Feast luxury snack review

After researching dried fruits and their benefits I came across Forest Feast, they are a premium dried fruit, seed and nut snack company from back home in Northern Ireland. The company started out with only mango on their shelves, but now they have over 150 different combinations and flavours in over 36 countries worldwide. How amazing is that?

They were kind enough to send me some samples to try out for myself and the kids. For me, nuts, seeds and dried fruit are an important part of my healthy lifestyle, something I use everyday in yogurt, breakfasts, baked oats or just as a snack. The kids take portioned snack pots to school, as too much of a good thing can be bad for us 😉

I absolutely loved these smaller snack packs, if you portioned it out you could have 20-25g for 5 syns. Just like other brands that have snack packs or shots but Forest Feast have a wider variety in the bag and no processed chocolate in there either! A full bag is around 15 syns so if you wanted a full bag, you could have one.

If you’ve been following me a while you know I love adding toppings to my breakfast. Here I have Zoats and I topped it with Forest Feast goji berries; which added beautiful flavour of sweetness to my somewhat savoury breakfast. The berries didn’t last to long, between myself and my daughter using it in overnight oats.

In this breakfast I used the Fruit, Nut and Berry mix; stirred it into my warm breakfast. It was beautiful. Having a crunchy texture mixing with a soft sweet hit of the berries, really made the breakfast. As I’m sure you can tell I am very passionate about breakfast. It is my favourite meal of the day, the biggest, healthiest and the one to set my day on the go.

My favourite snack was the apricots, keeping them in the fridge and dipping in when I fancied something sweet. Dried apricots really are like natures candy; just like mejooled dates.

I am planning to make some high protein energy balls with the rest and a few more recipes so keep your eyes peeled. I have already had some recipes on my YouTube channel and I have chatted about them there so be sure to check that out too.

So let’s talk about price? They’re a premium snack so it can seem a bit more expensive when you intitally see the price but when you compare it to some supermarket brands and depending on the offer, the price is competitive. I like that the snack bags are only £1 you can portion them out so they will last a few days.

Will I purchase my favourites? Yes I will. You can buy these online;

  • Ocado
  • Amazon

Or in store;

  • Waitrose
  • Asda
  • Tesco
  • Costco
  • Dunnes stores (N.I.)

I can’t wait to get some more apricots and finally try some of Forest Feast Mejooled dates.

You can find out more information on Forest Feast website

All of the products that we tried got a positive reaction so they’re all great to have in the cupboard for a snack and a healthier alternative for school lunchboxes. I also find it a great tool for my children to know about healthier fats, carbs and protein in their diet.

If you’ve any questions leave them below x

Treat yourself for the weight you’ve lost. (Motivacelet Review)

I‘m so excited to share with you my new bracelet from Motivacelet. The bracelet is different from other bracelets. This one counts your weight loss, with different charms indicating the stones, 1/2 stones and lbs. It is a great way to show your weightloss and no one knows about it, so you can stay motivated by seeing your weight loss and it isn’t obvious to other people. Unless someone else has the bracelet, then you both know and it feels like a secret society 😉

One thing I love about it, it shows all of your weight loss. I lost 2st before joining a slimming world group and when I get my certificates my weight loss before isn’t recognised. So this makes me feel better and more accomplished.

My bracelet is from the active range, there are different types of bracelets on the website, so be sure to check it out here to find a bracelet that will suit you. From this bracelet, wraps and silver. It’s really perfect for everyone.

This is my bracelet and charms. The large charms represent stones, the smaller charm is the half stone and the smallest are lbs.

This bracelet can hold 3 stones with all the charms. If you are like me with more than 3 stone to lose, I put the large stones on, then I use the 1/2 stone and lb charms for the rest.

For example; I’ve lost 8st 12lbs. I would put 8 large stones on, then 6 lb charms, then 1/2 st charm then 5 more lb charm. (Pictured below).

FullSizeRender 21

I think this is amazing way to track and see it visually. I am a visual person. When I reach for food, something I shouldn’t, I see my bracelet and put it back.

For me I can’t afford to celebrate each milestone, so this is an affordable way to treat yourself. Not only do they have the charms shown above, they have love heart charms that you can use to celebrate the stones too. For me these are special and I want one for when I hit 10 stone, it will look amazing ❤️

So if you’re looking for a pretty way to celebrate your weight loss check out Motivacelet. If you buy your own, tag me in your photo on Instagram, I would love to see!

Until next time,

NEVER STOP & STAY STRONG

If you've been following me a while you know I am a photographer and I also create #cinemagraph. I love my @motivacelet and I wanted to do something a little different in showing you it. I currently have 8 large beads which represents 1 stone = 8st. The half side bead represents 1/2 st mark & the smaller beads I have 12, 1 for each 1lb. So the 12 small beads & next size bead is the 1/2 stone making it 13lbs. So I have lost 8st 13lbs. I hope I explained that ok. Such a great visual aid and I'm itching for another 1lb off!! So something a little different for you too see. Lapland Mailroom Letter Review

Christmas is a time of year that you can relate to with family and traditions. One of those traditions was the yearly trip to see Santa and some years I received a letter which made it even more special and magical. Now I have my own children I have tried to make it just as magical.

I had the opportunity to review a letter from the Lapland Mailroom and as I normally get my kids a letter I thought why not. The website is very clear and slick; simple to use. The letters on the website looked beautiful, different from the letters my kids have received before!

screen-shot-2016-12-12-at-17-51-56

You have an option to choose from four different letters, which is great if you need to buy a few letters and ensure they’re all different. You can even personalise certain sections that include friends, siblings, gifts and Santa’s favourite food you left out the year before. So it includes special details from the previous year linking those together. I think that’s very unique and clever!

Prices start from £7.95 and at the moment every letter includes a Nice Child Certificate worth £2.99 for FREE. The letters are individually addressed to the child, so they could identify that it was for them; creating more excitement.

There’s also a baby’s first Christmas letter for £7.95, including a Nice Child Certificate.

We received the letter with activity pack, which costs £8.95.

Included in the pack is:

  1. ‘Nice Child’ Certificate
  2. Elf Yourself! Activity sheet
  3. Christmas Eve door hanger
  4. Cut out and keep
  5. Christmas decoration
  6. Colouring in Christmas card
  7. Colouring in ‘Santa
  8. Stop Here! poster’

ORDERING

The last ordering date for all International orders will be 10th December 2016

The last ordering date for Europe will be 14th December 2016

The last ordering date for all UK order will be 21st December 2016

FINAL THOUGHTS

I loved these letters but best of all my kids loved them. My youngest couldn’t get over the details of what she had asked for in her letter and believed that Santa read her letter, which made it so magical!

My eldest daughter seems gobbed smacked with the details in it! When you’re personalising them you can put details in the P.S. Section and you write something you’d like your kids to do or listen etc… I praised her or should I say Santa praised her for her hard work and that if she keeps it up she will achieve great things! Made me smile and made her believe she can do anything!

For the price of £7.95 you can get a letter and it surely makes it worth it when you see their wee faces!! I absolutely recommend it.

Now I only received the letters on the 10th of December and I put this review up ASAP so I do hope you have time to order your little ones a letter in time.

Spibelt Running Belt (review)

Have you ever found something to help you when you workout that you have to use every time?

I have; meet the Spibelt. It’s a running belt that holds your phone, keys and money discreetly, easily and with comfort.

What I love about the Spibelt is, it doesn’t bounce when I am running on the treadmill, going to the shop, Zumba and weights. I went trampolining recently and I had to tighten the belt, which is a win! I did notice that the belt moved around, maybe I didn’t have it tight enough or maybe it was the aggressive bouncing. Either way I didn’t mind, I was able to carry my stuff without worrying my bag would go missing and I was able to access my phone to take the must needed sweaty selfie and bounce video 😉

I did worry that the belt would creep up around my belly, I’m a size 18/20 right now but when I got the belt I was size 24, I thought it would slip in the fold of my belly but it didn’t, it stays put. One negative is that now my waist is getting smaller the belt tends to ride up, by putting the belt to the side it helps a little but this can get a little tedious. I’ve seen other people putting them to the back but for me this defeats the purpose of having a zip pouch to have easy access too.

The belt has adjustable straps and it fitted my chunky 24 (uk size) with ease and still had room. So the advantage of it being adjustable is that it will shrink with me, no need to buy another belt.

On those days when you just want to nip to the shop it is perfect, you don’t need a bag and everything fits in the Spibelt!

I have the iPhone 6s Plus so it fits that, money, cards and keys. The Spibelt I have is “Spibelt Large Pocket Lanai“.

So far I haven’t had any trouble with sweat soaking through the pocket, maybe because I keep my running to 30-40mins, so far so good! I know there are waterproof belts and I would love to try one of those, it is winter after all and here in England, it is mainly rain with a side of rain!

Overall the Spibelt does the job it is intended to do, I love the material and pattern. I love that it is accessible for the plus side lady and gent, that it’s breathable and adjustable. It does annoy me that it rides up but I am in a phase where I am losing weight, so it could be my shape changing etc.. I’ll know more once I lose more and can update this post. I like that you can get accessories for the belt, for example you can get sports gel, water bottles and an extender (to increase the belt size).

So if you are looking for a running/exercise belt, something for festivals or both, then check out Spibelt I highly recommend it.

Just Bee Water (Review)

Hi Guys!

Today I would like to talk about a drink that I think is fab and I want to share my thoughts on it.  Now being on a diet or a change in eating plan, it is always recommended to drink more water, I drink around 4 litres of water a day! I now love water ❤ but lets be honest it can be boring… I’ve added lemon, fruit and all sorts to spice it up and it works but I am always on the look out for more.

I came across Just Bee Drinks and they have a range of flavoured waters but something about them as a brand and their ethics made me want to find out more. When I read up about the company I feel the love; they have a love for Bees but the passion to help Bees and create a product with their family struck a cord with me.

The water is enriched with a drop of honey, no refined sugar and 50 cals or less (depending on flavour), making it 2 – 2.5 syns per drink. Now you might be thinking, woah Julie are you mad?! but in the scheme of things I am on a diet with Slimming World and I am allowed 15 syns per day, before I always tried to think how much bad stuff can I have for those syns, now I think about healthy syns. Don’t get me wrong I still like the odd naughty chocolate bar but if I can have a healthy drink then pass me more!

It also made me very nostalgic, when I was younger and ill, my mother would make me a drink with honey in it. Sadly my mother is no longer here but I am still attached to that idea.

There are three flavours; Lemon & Green Tea, Apple & Ginger and Blueberry. I must admit Blueberry is my favourite and you can taste the honey in it. It tastes like no other water drink I have ever had.

My husband and both my girls loved them, so much so the taster turned into them gone in seconds.

With the cartons, once open you do have to drink them with in 24 hours but they’re the right size that it would fill a glass and you wouldn’t really put it back in the fridge, I know I couldn’t.

Make sure to check out Just Bee Drinks Our Story

You can purchase these drinks direct from Just Bee Drinks  or check the stockist page for more information.

My final thoughts

I love the product, it tastes beautiful!

Yes, I would buy them again. They’re more expensive than your average bottle of water but you are buying from a local business that we need to see thrive and they’re helping save bees.

Yes, I would use the syns on them and I would choose it over dare I say it…chocolate!

It definitely feels like a treat and served with ice on a warm day it’s refreshing.

I hope you enjoy the stop motion 🙂
